Infrared Remote Control

Control your Sky TV, DVD, Freeview, Satellite Receivers, Hi Fi and other equipment from any room with an Infrared Remote Control!

Infrared (IR) remote controls use light, they require line of sight to operate the destination device. The signal can, however, be reflected by mirrors, just like any other light source.

If operation is required where no line of sight is possible, for instance when controlling equipment in another room or installed in a cabinet, this is where we would use a Infrared Extender. Most of these have an IR receiver, picking up the IR signal and relaying it via radio waves to the remote part, which has an IR transmitter communicating with the original IR control.

The Infrared remote control in the top right corner can learn all functions of these numerous remotes and replace them as one easy to use remote control.

A small Infrared Receiver (top left) and a sender installed at the equipment end (top right) allows you to control Sky, Video, Hi Fi and other equipment from any room in your house.

Wireless Infrared Repeater System

If you'd like to add more control to your Audio Visual equipment without pulling additional wire around your home, we can supply and install a Wireless Infrared Control that will allow you to control your main system from up to 100 feet away.

This is how it works:

We start by programming a Infrared Remote Control to control the components in your system. Then when you press a command like "Play" or "Next" from a different room in the house, a transmitter changes the Infrared signal to RF, and sends it to a RF Receiver near your main Audio or Video System. The RF Receiver turns the signals back into Infrared, and passes these commands onto your equipment via Infrared Flashers.
